Economic empowerment through skill enhancement training, pursuing sustainable livelihood measures through new
start-ups and engaging in income generation activities through groups with requisite training have been hall-marks
of SARD Livelihood promotion measures. SARD’s model are focused towards economic empowerment on a sustainable mode by
linking with nationalized banks like NABARD and having self-propelling mechanisms in place benefitting mostly women and youth.
The skill enhancement are focused on locally relevant trades viz., Mobile repairing, Invertor repairing, Motor cycle mechanics, Plumbing etc.
After training handholding is ensured by arranging for loans from banks to initiate start ups.
Women are grouped as self-help units to avail loans and pursue locally relevant (including livestock) and marketable produces from
locally procured ingredients. SARD enables backward forward linkages to source material and enable access to market platforms. SARD
continues to work with these beneficiaries to develop their entrepreneurial and marketing skills in order to equip them with capabilities
to become economically self-sufficient.
